Toward the end of 2006, I was in a hotel room in Florida doing what I normally do at the end of the day - checking and returning emails, updating notes from that day's meetings, etc. As I was sitting there, I heard a voice so clearly that I actually looked around the room to see if I was still alone. I was alone, but this voice was very clear to me. Suddenly I found myself thinking about designing Christian t-shirts that would assist fellow Christians in their attempts at witnessing.
The purpose of these shirts would be to have a question or saying on the front that would get the person looking at it to ask the person wearing it what it meant. This would give the wearer the chance to explain the shirt and break the ice to witness at the same time. And by someone picking out which shirt they wore on a particular day, they could even prepare beforehand with how they would potentially respond to any questions.
Looking back, I know that Satan really didn't want this to happen. I got sidetracked continuously and kept postponing this project all the while explaining it away with very convenient excuses.
Through another set of events that I watched a Christian man go through with the loss of his child, I was reminded through his eulogy how we were supposed to live as Christians. He spoke about trials and tribulations that we will go through on this earth. He also mentioned how, through it all, we should never take our eyes off of Jesus and how we should continue to lift up His name and bring to Him all who don't know Him as we do.
Needless to say, I felt a tremendous amount of guilt about letting God down and immediately got to work. In very short order, I had designed some shirts, created a website, and began a very small marketing program. (I'm still working on that.)
I may not sell very many of these shirts. I may be doing all of this to reach one person. If that's the case, I'm OK with it because I know that I am following God's command for me. Then again, you may be the one that needs this to help reach someone. If you are, I hope that it helps you. If it does, I would like to know.
